Calm before the storm

Hey guys!
It's 4 days till trials and counting. Omgsh.

I've been in such a procrastinating mood lately. it's so bad, I know. Yesterday I didn't study at all, instead I walked outside to the glade with my sis and took photos for her blog (I probably snapped over 70) and then after dinner I finished reading 'The Lovely Bones' by Alice Sebold in one sitting. And it's a pretty thick book.
I think in order to study effectively I need people beside me. Libraries are perfect spots.

I am so glad UMAT is over so I can concentrate more on school stuff. Not that I studied much for UMAT, it was more like a looming prescence behind me.

I ws so tired of thinking by the end of the three hours that I kept looking at the clock and waiting till I could leave and eat some food lol. Makes me worried about the three hour exams for trials, hope I will survive those. I think since I will be writing more and moving about the time will fly faster, so it'll be okay.

These are some things I've baked in the past 2 weeks:
Blueberry muffins with icing sugar and fresh bluberries on top :) Made them for Breakfast with Benefits. On the mention of Breakfast with Benefits I'm SO proud of our prefects hehe we raised $1400 :) :) Also not top self: HASH BROWNS SELL LIKE CRAZY. In the morning me, EL and VB made 4 kg of them (well not exactly made them, but we did oven bake and fry frozen ones) and all 4 kg were sold in minutes.

Hehe and my muffins sold really quickly too!! Thank you to everyone who bought one :)

My sis and I made these cakes for KF's 17th, but unfortunately I was really sick the next day and couldn't bring them to him at school. Chocolate cupcakes with dark chocolate ganache and a variety of toppings including crushed crunchie, picnic, wafers and roasted hazelnuts :)

Anyway that's all for now, I probably won't be blogging till after dem exams :O GOOD LUCK everyone! See you on the other side haha. Reminds me of the Iron Curtain, which reminds me of Modern History.

Holiday Adventures

Hello everyone! I hope you've been enjoying your holidays despite the looming TRIALS! Me and CZ were talking about trials today. Apparently some schools like Sydney Boys has already finished them last term :O I couldn't imagine doing them that early.

Anyway here are some stuff I've got up to since my last blog post:

On Friday I went to GW and SS's 17th birthday party. Here is a badly taken pic of the dress I wore:

My mum bought it for me to wear to the party and when I saw it I was thinking odd...this dress look's familiar. It's actually RH's semi-formal dress but hers was purple, my mum bought it in coral. MQ said it reminds her of a towel. Lol. At the party VB was wearing my red semi-formal dress. Haha.

Le photo my sis took of me before I left haha. I'm wearing my Vinnies necklace I blogged about a while ago ! :)

Lol I took this one of my and my sis and she's mucking around

To wrap their presents I used my polka dot paper bags and somebody saw them and said oh hey it's your signature wrapping style and I realised it is now haha. I used the same type for Jashan's bday too :)

I made a cake on Saturday after going out to eat dinner with my family at Temasek :)

I made some sort of collage haha. First make a basic vanilla cake, all the ingredients should be lying around it's just sugar, eggs, flour etc. My sis cut the cake into three bits then let it cool. We whipped up some cream and spread it, with some blackberries, raspberries & blueberries between the layers. My sis piped the chocolate letters haha. Basically you melt chocolate, put it into a plastic bag, snip off the corner and pipe it onto a piece of non-stick baking paper. Let it harden and it will be ready to use. Don't pipe too thinly and the chocolate will break into pieces when you try to pick it up.

The berries were had juice dripping and the cake didn't look that enat so I walked to the store and bought some wafers. Using scissors cut the wafers to how you like and put it all around the cake using cream as a 'glue'. I made it so the wafers at the back of the cake were higher than the ones in front.

When I was done with the wafer decoration I put it in the fridge to kind of 'set' so it no wafers would randomly fall down. Then I chose a gold ribbon from my ribbon bag and tied it around the cake and tied a bow. Done! Haha. Happy birthday GZ! I hope you got a surprise when I turned up at your house like a stalker...

Random note about wafers: You know I never understood the joke 'Why was the cookie sad? Because his mum was a wafer so long' the ENTIRE time I was growing up. I only understood it when I was buying wafers for the cake and I had an epiphany! His mum was a-WAY FOR so long. HAHA

Because I like collages and I'm proud of the final product I made a collage of what the cake turned out like

I went to the library on Monday. There were about 3 tables of people just from our school haha. It was fun :) Tendercrysbeachicken calls this studying-with-friends 'librarying'.

On Tuesday I went to Catswood LOL I mean CHATSWOOD for the first ever time in my life with CL and KT :) It's soo nice. We went to eat ramen for lunch at a place called Makanai and there was this option called VOLCANO RAMEN with a picture of 2 chillies next to it HAHA so I decided to get it and I choked on the first mouthful lol. Then KT tried some and he was choking too hahaha.

It actually wasn't THAT spicy, just the first bite of chilli makes you choke a lot haha. They had an option called SUPER VOLCANO but I didn't get it lol.

Next time I definitely want to try the Wagyu Beef Curry Udon. Yum haha :)

After that we went to get 'Froyo' (frozen yogurt) as CL calls it. It was my first time ever trying frozen yogurt. It was a self-serve place and it was really fun, there were so many flavours like Blueberry, passionfruit, strawberry, even taro (it was really nice), peach etc and our self-serve tub was so colourful after hehe. And you got to pick your own toppings! We got peach, blueberries, some syrup and something chewy called mochi. A whole tub that we shared was only $10 so it was pretty cheap too! And super yummy :)

I actually didn't like that many toppings. My favourite flavour was passionfruit :) Once KT gets to sending me the pic we took of our froyo I will show you guys hehe

Also me & CL took our dogs to the dog park!

Biscuit loves walks

It was our first time going to the dog park. She was so excited she ran around in circles for ages. We were about to leave the dog park (no other people had come round with their dogs except an old man with his labrador that he didn't let off the leash because it was too boisterous) and then this girl with a black dog walked past us in the direction of the dog park and we were like...should we follow her back to the park lol. So we did and all the dogs got to play haha. Her dog's name was Ziggy and it drooled on Biscuit lol.

She was SO tired out when we got home after that she slept for probably >3hours after

Anyay that's about it! Hope you guys are enjoying your holidays!

Collage Mania

Hey guys! How have your holidays been? So rainy outside :(

I downloaded this new app on my ipad which lets you create collages and I've been going a little bit crazy over making a million collages...

Here are a few hehe:

There's actually a story behind the odd leopard background...Biscuit has a cushion on her pet bed that has leopard print haha. It's really fluffy

hehe

This is a full collage of talented Biscuit's circus tricks

Some mini carrot cupcakes GC made me :) So sweet

My sis piping a green tree

Haha my crazy collage mania..I made A LOT MORE above just a few :)

Yesterday night I had hotpot at GZ's house for his 18th bday.

Birthday cake! :) His house is so nice hehe

Today I had lunch with SS and CL at GPK and afterwards 'studied' with RH at the library..we were mostly talking haha.

I guess those are my adventures thus far!

Enjoy your holidays despite the weather!

Last School Camp Ever

Hey guys! I've been sleeping SO much this weekend...trying to catch up on lost sleep after camp zzz

I took 7 polaroids at camp hehe :) Camp was awesome! Here are a few polaroids I took:

This is our team for Treasure Hunt. We found a grand total of......3 pegs! I for each of us. The winning team found 147. Woo. Haha our game was bias, the pegs that were 'scattered everywhere' were in actual fact all in the same place-on the massive oval. And the team that got there first got all the pegs. Haha. Still lots of fun though :)

This one's pretty dark but we're carrying our guns from laser tag. My first ever game! It was AWESOME, so much fun haha. The set up was an outdoor laser tag like this-

There were these black blocks with holes/rectangles cut out of them. During the first round it was so hectic I couldn't stop laughing and thinking laser tag was ridiculous but it was so fun haha and I managed to deactivate SA!!! Yup I shot him 5 times and deactivated him. Our laser guns talked back to us which was awesome. The funnest round was the respawning round, where in the first 4 minutes you could die and get respawned as many times as you wanted to and in the last minute you couldn't. Haha so in the first 4 minutes we all went crazy running into the enemy's camp and going behind them...

Woo gradelove polaroid! It makes me sad to think that when we graduate, gradelove will be gone too. It was a good run, and as JL says we'll make sure to keep cdelebrating gradelove's anniversary even after high school :') Letters was a bit stressful this time but still fun, I'm glad people enjoyed it.

The disco was CRAZY. Haha we were late because our room got locked (even though it isn't supposed to) and Mr S had to come and open it for us, and then KF wanted a style session where we straightened his hair so we only got to the disco at around 7:20? It was all dark inside with so many lights and the music was SO LOUD. My ears were ringing afterwards. It was lots of fun though haha :)

I only got about 3 hours sleep at camp because we got some 2:30am visitors HAHA and we played snap. GZ is so bad at snap...lol. Probably the most rebellious thing I've ever done..yes I have a tame, boring life HAHA. And it wasn't even us being the rebels, they were the sneaky ones HAHA.

SO that's our last camp-lots of fun, good memories. It's strange that it was over so quickly, the thought of camp helped me get through assessments last term. I guess the upcoming 'happy' thought to get me through all the rest of the hsc will be various 18th bdays and year 12 formal :)

P.S. When I got home from camp I saw this had arrived in our letterbox:

Does anyone know what it is lol. It's a FURMINATOR! It's a fine comb that takes out the fur that sheds off in dogs, and since Biscuit is a notorious shedder it's been soo helpful. I've used it to groom her for the past 3 days and it's worked SO well!

Hehe furminator. Biscuit loves it too.

Also today I was in the mood for potatoes so I cooked these for lunch- Latkes!

They are little potato pancakes/fritters that people eat around Hanukkah, I remember I once read a story about Hanukkah in the School Magazine (the one with Ernest the Carrot haha) and they ate latkes in that story. They're very yummy :)
