SRC dinner and moar curly fries

Yesterday night was the last SRC dinner (at the Thai House North Parramatta) I could ever have had the opportunity to go to :3 Feels so sentimental. Me, MP and NA affectionally refer to ourselves as 'original 3' becausw we were the original 3 SRCs in year 8 and we stayed togetherzz throughout the years until we graduated from that safe haven of the C6 and Miss K and now we're in B11 hanging with Mr U.

I took my Polaroid along and snapped up my 3rd picture of me, VS, OL and Miss K to officially farewell me and VS's reign as SRC Presidents. Ah the timez we have shared.

Oh SRC how I will miss you. You were my everything in high school for 4 years and I put so much effort and pride into you :)

We also all got such wondetrful farewell presents and cards from everyone in the SRC. How sweet :')

(I LOVE THE CAT HAHAHA)

I love you guys, for everyone who was the 'old' SRC I've literally grown up with you and for all the 'new' ones I can't think of any people more deserving (and for the juniors, I can't think of people more cute! hehe)

I remember the first dinner I went to when I was a wee lass and we all clapped as we farewelled the old Presidents and I remember I was in awe of them, thinking about how inspirational and amazing they were. I would have NEVER imagined it would be me that would be farewelled one day.

This sounds like a thank you speech.....basically I can't believe I'm so blessed with such great opportunities in life :)

I got this AWESOME clutch as a goodbye pressie :) I LOVE IT !

Had an awesome time last night with awesome company, haha sorry for OW for putting up with all the nicknames I make for you (OKPCW^2, Big O etc) and OM for your stories about being in Peru for 2 months! Thank you to VS for being the best co president anybody could ever wish for <3

Wow. As I'm writing this I can't believe I'm so old. I still remember when I was in Year 8, all young and shy..

Today I went to library after chem tutor and SS, CL and I got to have a catch up sesh over curly fries and bagels! Yummy yummy :) Dat curly fries obsession is still not cured....

Love: Michelle

P.S. Today my sis bought me a pressie!!

BT sometimes has these for recess and they are the most delicious things ever.

P.P.S. We had this awesomely nice waiter who looks like Joseph Vincent yesterday serving us at the Thai place and he told us he was in Year 12 too in Castle Hill High!!! How exciting! Wish I'd gotten his name then we could be buds and all hehe :) He called HH 'mate' when we were leaving :D

I'm 17!!

NOTE: this was written on the 22nd of February 2012, I didn't want to post it then cos I didn't take any of the pictures yet :P

Wow. 1-7.

Today was one of the best, if not the best birthday of my life (only I think 16th can be a real contender).

It differed from my 16th though; it was low-key, relaxed, but full of laughter and good weather and smiles and memories :')

Firstly, at recess I recieved a polaroid and film from AM, BT, RH, MQ, GZ, KT, RC and RL. Thank you so so so so so so so much guys; I love it so so so so incredibly much :') Not sure how many 'so's' I can fit there but honestly I nearly burst into tears :) Thanks for the burnt sienna hat too!

ROFL MY REACTION FACE WHEN I GOT IT:

Thank you to EL for the AWESOME DELICIOUS COOKIE and the super cute piggy lunch box :) I love love love cute lunch boxes :)

Thank you to LL for the awesome earrings! Too cute :) Haha I've already worn them twice :)

Thank you to MQ again for the use of your camera practically all night when we went out for dinner :D The lighting is soo cool (I call this photo cruise ship cos the background looks like a cruise :D )

Thank you to everyone who wrote me a card, texted, wrote on my wall, wished me hbd in person etc :) It all meant so much to me and made me feel so special :D

Thank you MP my Vice-captain male counterpart; who initiated everyone in Prefects roll call singing me Happy Birthday and tried to get everyone in my chem class to do the same ROFL. I couldn't ask for a better partner :) Woo secret handshake time!! :)

Thank you RH for the chocolate cake!

Thank you to JP for the super cute bag :) I LOVE the colour!!

Thank you to GZ for the super fancy cupcakes! I've never seen such nice ones! Sorry sorry that I ruined them when I accidentally dropped the box :(

Thank you to BT for my first ever mix-cd! Listening to it as I'm typing this :')

Thank you to my Mummy for paying for the dinner!

Thank you Daddy for the blowtorch! Now I can make creme brulee hehe :)

Thank you to my sister (who has currently been away from home all week cos she's an O Week leader or something for UNSW) for the new pyjamas! I would take a photo but you hid them from me haha and you said you'd show me when you came back home :P

Anyway I know this is a lot of thanks but basically I want to thank EVERYONE that made this day such a spectacular and special one. My last birthday as a high school student was so magical and honestly I wouldn't have changed a single thing about today. Even math tutoring was super fun today lol :)

I'm taking all my cards to bed and reading them all again before I fall asleep. I love you all so so much and I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family :3

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!!! Today I was so happy that I nearly cried at recess and lunch LOL. receiving flowers from ma gurl frans, cards that made me want to cry, thinking about high school and seeing the school decorated and with all the lovey music playing in the quad :') :')

Even math tests couldn't spoil the day! Yay happy day! I'm so blessed because my friends and family are all such LOVE-ly wonderful people and I'm glad we got today to show how much we appreciate each other :)

Yesterday night I cooked some choc-mint macadamia brownies

Then I wrapped them up in these super cute cookie bags I bought in the holidays at the 2.80 store. Come in tan and white :)

Tied some ribbon and ta-dah!

Did it in the morning so my room is messy with books everywhere.

Got these super cute cards from AM, RH and BT

Aw I love you guys :) Whale you be my valentine? DOPLHINATELY :3

Thank you so much AM, RH, BT, CL and GZ for your roses <3

Extra love today: Michelle

P.S. As you can tell the photos today are a bit different, I took them on my iPad on instagram :) I love the cool vintageyesque faded soft looks it gives photos :) Sometimes if the camera is too clear and sharp it isn't very nice I think.

See, here is a photo of the roses on my sometimes harsh camera:

Still looks niceish but I like the instagram one better :)

Ooh I instagramed the rainbow cake my sis and I made the other day too:

Haha this is becoming an obsession!

OH YEAH another cool thing that happened today was in the quad they played One Direction-What makes you beautiful! WOO!! :D And also a new friend we made in Year 11 at the swimming carnival yesterday (bonding over oreos, an intense game of snap which I won haha and mafia) said hi to us today! :)

P.P.S On Saturday my mum bought my dad some belts for Valentines day to 'belt' him in ROFL and she draped them over his shoulders haha

The tricky world of LOVE

It's about a week before the day-hearts, pink, chocolates, roses yes it's VALENTINES DAY

That holiday. I am a self-confessed hopeless romantic, Valentines-day-and-the-colour-pink enthusiast, all that jazz but today I realised: I don't know the first thing about love. (In this sense I'm talking about romantic love, not love between friends and family because thankfully I am in no shortage of those :D I am a lucky gal)

I love the idea of love alright; I love watching chick flicks like Bridal Wars and crying at the end, whenever a couple in my grade are holding hands or smile each at each other I always feel so happy and smiley and say awwwwwwwww :'), I believe in things like FATE and THE ONE etc

But my experience of love? NADA. ZILCH. In fact I'm so lacking any type of 'experience' with  guys that I have been referred to as 'prude', 'old lady', 'party-pooper', 'boring' etc by several different people at different points in my life. But the thing is, I don't actively seek to be a so-called 'prude' and it's not like I look down on other couples; I LOVE them and frequently think to myself how cute they are.
Other people seem to have the whole relationships thing down pat, and that's very admirable, but I know I am admittedly oblivious, naive, a complete over-thinker and over-worrier and question things like 'Is this how a normal relationship goes? What's supposed to happen?' Are there rules to dating, what constitutes a proper date, are you supposed to sit with them in classes after getting together, when are you supposed to introduce them to your parents, how often do these 'dates' happen etc etc and the questions continue. They just all baffle me! I don't understand this world of LOVE and how you're supposed to act and feel and things like that; it's a whole other world and currently I don't know if I'll ever even be ready in fact for these new experiences!

And gals like me, awkward 'prude' gals, we're criticised. We're not the norm in society, we're weird and abnormal and our advice isn't considered valuable or helpful to any friends with love problems because "You guys don't understand; you've never had a boyfriend!" True, I have not, true I might not be able to relate as much to your issues but I think our perspective is valuable too, although people have told me before that my views on life can't be trusted because I know so little and are so naive. Frankly, that hurts a little. I mean on urbandictionary, usages of the word 'prude' include:
God, she wouldn't kiss me. She's such a prude.
She won't have sex with me even though we've been going out for a month. What a prude!
and it's often used to mock or as an insult.

But, I think, it's okay to be awkward and inexperienced in love. It's okay to be a 'prude'.

In time, God will send the One to me if that is in my life plan, if not then it was never supposed to happen anyway and my life will be just as fulfilling through other activities such as cat collecting, writing letters and sending through the post, cooking all that sort of stuff :)

If that means I will go through life without having kissed a single person, then so be it. There are so many 'things' society says needs to be done or assumes is done by a certain age; for example stereotypically it is thought teenagers will all have tried alcohol (still never) and have those 'teen parties', and movies like 'The 40-year-old Virgin' (I haven't seen it but I'm assuming the title tells a lot about what type of person the movie is based around) showcase exactly how this behaviour is characterised as 'odd' and 'atypical' by society. Why all the pressures? Let things happen as they happen, never rush to do something just to do something. I'm not in a hurry to go and kiss just to 'lose it', and that part in the movie 'New Years Eve' where random people kiss in the streets just because the countdown from 10-1 ended and it's a new year is just not acceptable! It makes it look like it's the norm and it's completely fine to go around kissing whoever (which is why I feel SO uncomfortable when I hear about girls kissing other girls just for the fun of it; WHYYY) when it's completely NOT! It's something special, saved until you are well, WELL more than half-a-year into a relationship and NEVER something for the first date. I don't judge others who may do this, just personally I would never do the whole kissing people randomly thing.

So on behalf of all of us 'awkward in love' girls, I don't care that I am a 'prude' and am inexperienced and naive. Personally, if I can't see yourself myself marrying that person, I would not date them.

So anyway-I know this post was rather rambly but a main point I want to make-(esp to the people telling me to date right now) don't make life (either your own or others') full of drama! Listen to some classical music, play an instrument, read a nice book and love your friends and I think we're all set :3

Love: Michelle

Anyway, so now I know for sure who my valentine is for next week; my darling, beautiful BISCUIT.

Biscuit as a puppy <3 For Feb 14th I shall give her a pig ear, her favourite :D

P.S. In part, this post was a little inspired by http://rookiemag.com/2011/10/never-been-kissed/

Also, I realise this post may cause people to call me a prude, but it's okay, I have accepted that :)

On another note, The Secret World of Arrietty, a Studio Ghibli film, is coming to cinemas!! So excited!!
