SRC dinner and moar curly fries

Yesterday night was the last SRC dinner (at the Thai House North Parramatta) I could ever have had the opportunity to go to :3 Feels so sentimental. Me, MP and NA affectionally refer to ourselves as 'original 3' becausw we were the original 3 SRCs in year 8 and we stayed togetherzz throughout the years until we graduated from that safe haven of the C6 and Miss K and now we're in B11 hanging with Mr U.

I took my Polaroid along and snapped up my 3rd picture of me, VS, OL and Miss K to officially farewell me and VS's reign as SRC Presidents. Ah the timez we have shared.

Oh SRC how I will miss you. You were my everything in high school for 4 years and I put so much effort and pride into you :)

We also all got such wondetrful farewell presents and cards from everyone in the SRC. How sweet :')

I love you guys, for everyone who was the 'old' SRC I've literally grown up with you and for all the 'new' ones I can't think of any people more deserving (and for the juniors, I can't think of people more cute! hehe)

I remember the first dinner I went to when I was a wee lass and we all clapped as we farewelled the old Presidents and I remember I was in awe of them, thinking about how inspirational and amazing they were. I would have NEVER imagined it would be me that would be farewelled one day.

This sounds like a thank you speech.....basically I can't believe I'm so blessed with such great opportunities in life :)

I got this AWESOME clutch as a goodbye pressie :) I LOVE IT !



Had an awesome time last night with awesome company, haha sorry for OW for putting up with all the nicknames I make for you (OKPCW^2, Big O etc) and OM for your stories about being in Peru for 2 months! Thank you to VS for being the best co president anybody could ever wish for <3

Wow. As I'm writing this I can't believe I'm so old. I still remember when I was in Year 8, all young and shy..

Today I went to library after chem tutor and SS, CL and I got to have a catch up sesh over curly fries and bagels! Yummy yummy :) Dat curly fries obsession is still not cured....

P.P.S. We had this awesomely nice waiter who looks like Joseph Vincent yesterday serving us at the Thai place and he told us he was in Year 12 too in Castle Hill High!!! How exciting! Wish I'd gotten his name then we could be buds and all hehe :) He called HH 'mate' when we were leaving :D

I am 16 going on 17

I can remember the first time I watched The Sound of Music I was around 8? And I remember thinking wowwww 17 is so old I can't imagine ever being 17!!

17. A nice solid age I think, just in between the 'landmarks' of 16 and 18.

A quote from Zayn Malik of One Direction (LOL he's my favourite member): "It's weird to see how much you could fit into a year. How much stuff you can do and how different your life can become."

This time last year...hmm I can remember it exactly and I must say I can't believe how much I've changed since I turned 16. I feel that I have become so much more mature, made new friends and become closer to God.

Yay yay! 16 was such a great, irreplaceable year and I can't wait to turn 17 and see what exciting, exciting adventures this new chapter in my life will bring!

Hmm this time next year, I would have made a decision about what course to do in uni, I would be preparing to go to said uni and I would hvae put all the horrid HSC way past me :) But as for now, it still looms ahead so still gotta keep working hard! :)

Hmm I think I will put up a small list of memorable things I did when I was Sweet Sixteen for old time's sake and so when I read back on my blog I can relive these moments :)

• I had my first birthday party since I was in Year 2 or 3 :) I remember planning for it for weeks lol and then I was late to my own party haha and I thought it wasn't going to go to plan at all but it turned out more memorable and better than I expected! Haha yay another post about 'expecting the unexpected'
• I went to KYCK for the first time. Awesome experience, I still remember the feeling of enlightenment on the last night when we were all singing/screaming out the words to 'One Way Jesus' and we had our arms around strangers and we were all doing that hilarious can-can dance for some reason (remember BT? LOL) and I almost cried :') And being savages and prank-calling HZ hahaha singing 'Friday' by Rebecca Black but AM accidentally sang it to the tune of 'Baby' LOL
• I had my first summer where I spent the entirety of it in Australia and not a couple of weeks overseas. Weather was rather wet, but it was an awesome summer :)
• I attended my first high school formal! The semi-formal was so much fun even though it rained a little
• I got another dog, Biscuit :) I thought after Lucky I would never have the capacity to love another dog ever again but since I've gotten Biscuit I realised we have enough space in our hearts for lots of things
• I went 'adventure-landing' where I would visit new places I'd never been before like Glebe etc. I also temporarily got into thrifting haha but I think that urge has stopped now
• I made a Pen Pal :) her name is also Michelle and she lives in Canada
• I created this blog

That's about all I can think of right now, but I missed out on the little daybyday moments too like making new friends, spending time with old friends, enjoying school, organising events etc :D

Woo excited for tomorrow! I wonder if I'll wake up feeling older haha

Chinese New Year and that back to school season

Hey guys! Hope you all had a prosperous and wonderful Chinese New Year!! On Sunday night I went out for dinner with my family, my cousins family, my family friend Issie's family and her cousin's family. Phew that's a lot of people!

We went to the restaurant in Parramatta, Prince and it was crowded! We had lobster and fish and so much nice food :)

We all got red pockets to tie onto red strings into holes in the ceilings so when the dragons came around they would come by our tables and 'eat' the red pockets :)

When the dragons came around everyone got so excited in the restaurant and there were cameras everywhere and people standing on chairs etc and the noise from the drums and cymbals following the dragons were deafening! It was such an exciting atmosphere! :D

 I remember one time when I was younger maybe 2or 3 years ago I went out to Yum Cha for Chinese New Year that year and when the dragon came around it came towards me and then the guys inside the dragon costume leaned over me do I was inside the costume and I saw one of them grab my tea and drink it LOL. He must have been really thirsty. My mum was really excited cos she said that meant extra good luck :) touching the dragons tail is also considered good luck so everyone in the restaurant was touching the dragons tail :D

ALSO this was sooo exciting!! The restaurant had this prize giveaway and they were randomly pulling out numbers out of a hat and the table that had that number got a prize eg if you were sitting on table 22 and they called out 22 you got a prize. I was talking to my sister like omg wouldnt it be cool if we won a prize??? And then they were calling out the last number and the host was like the last number is forty..... FIVE and WE WERE TABLE NUMBER 45!!!!!

He was calling out the numbers in mandarin and I can't understand mandarin so at first I didn't know what he said then everyone at my table started screaming and I was like WE WON??????? OMG WE WON!!! And we started jumping up and down and my sister started laughing cos apparently I was so happy there were tears in my eyes LOL.

The prize was a red empty suitcase and my aunt got to keep it :) haha our whole table was just going crazy and the tables next to us we're like....haha they were were probably jealous hehe :3

Okay but after a while I was less excited cos we realized they rigged the prize giving ROFL so we're not actually particularly lucky, it's cos we're really good friends with the manager and we had given him a red pocket before we started eating and after we won he came around to our table and took photos with us and gave us all conspiratorial winks like ;) and he kept saying stuff like 'My favorite customers' and when he was saying 'Forty....' I realised all our parents has been shouting FIVE!!! And putting up five fingers like they were giving high fives and we were right in his line of sight ROFL so yeah not luck just connections. Like the triads LOL.

Oh well still exciting stuff :)

On actual Chinese new year I went out with my family to eat and it was nice family time :)

How did you guys spend yours? Also I have been wanting to write this post since 2 days ago but as you can see there are no pictures today in my post which is unusual for me and this is cos my computer hasn't been working for a while so I'm writing this only my iPad at the moment. I'll probably add in cool pics later :)

Also my SCUMBAG POOL! Lol it was soooo dirty and green on Friday when friends came over and 3 days later on Monday it turned completely blue and clear. It looks sooo clean and nice :) pool party before school starts? Lol.

P.S. Recently I've been getting into Polaroid cameras. I've always really liked them so I've tried doing so research online about how they work, cost, film etc but I'm quite noobish at it so I called on my pal JJ, the most informed and best photographer I know, for some advice. I await his knowledge, and any you readers might have :D I'd quite like to have one for 2012 and the last 3 terms of HIGH SCHOOL LIFE! :) starting off with a new camera would be lovely to capture those memories :')

EDIT: Hallelujah my computer is working again!! Pics are up now to accompany blog posts :) Personally I love the addition of photographs to posts, it adds a break to the text and adds atmosphere :D

2012

Welcome to 2012!!

I think I already learnt an important lesson in this first day of the new year (and it's only 1:34am haha): Expect the unexpected (In the wise words of B.Tan)

You see, yesterday night if you had asked me what I was doing for NYE I would have told you I would be watching the movie 'New Years Eve' and then catching a train to North Sydney with my family as we had booked two hotel rooms in Harbourside to enjoy the splendour of the fireworks.

Well.

I missed that train to North Sydney and my family were forced to leave me behind.

Instead, as I forgot my house keys, I triapsed to my aunt's house in North Parramatta (GZ-further proof that she is a superhero HAHA) where I spent the next 4 hours until midnight in virtual solitude watching the TV (as my aunt, my cousin and my uncle had all fallen asleep by 8:30 on account of the fact that they had been working all day and were really tired).
At first I was pretty disappointed (especially after my sister called and was raving about the floor to ceiling windows and how they set up chairs for everybody to sit and watch the fireworks, and how they even got wristbands to walk around the Harbourside area cos apparently it was really exclusive and how one chair was left empty for me) because I was really looking forward to it BUT the time alone really gave me time to reflect on the past year and the lessons and memories I will never forget.

And hey it was still an awesome day because I
-Got to see my dear pals BT, AG, RC and GZ briefly today and got to watch an amazing movie with BT and AG as well.

-Reread Malcolm in the Middle at my aunts house (which is a hilarious series btw)
-Made my first New Years Resolution: Watch the fireworks NEXT New Years Eve, Whether with family or friends, and in a hotel room or in the ground [NOT ON TV], I shall STRIVE to achieve this HAHA I have actually never once went out on New Years with friends and only once (when I was about 5) watched the fireworks in the city with my family so I have yet to experience this 'partying' on New Years everybody talks about :)
-And call this fate or MAGIC but when it was getting closer to 12 and I was all alone, I was getting a little scared I wouldn't be able to ring in the new year with anyone because my mum told me they were still in the city but at exactly 12:00, my aunt's doorbell rang and my family was outside waiting there screaming HAPPY NEW YEAR and then my uncle and my aunt woke up and celebrated too and there were many hugs and kisses which was nice :') So I didn't spent it alone afterall :D

Also this was the first New Years I have ever gotten so many calls and text messages wishing me Happy New Year and wanting to reminisce about 2011 and telling me about their night and whatnot so thank you for everybody's wishes :D

To end this post here is a quote from 'New Years Eve': Although there are things beyond our control (such as natural disasters) we can always control our personal attitudes so this year be kinder, forgive more and LOVE more because love drives the world.

Here's to hoping 2012 will bring trials (literally as well....can't be forgetting them TESTS), triumphs, transitions, trends, tempestuous times and terrific times and everything in between.

First Post :)

I suppose it is fitting to name this entry First Post :D

Well I did it. I made a blog! I had been considering it for a while and I took that leap (I can now effectively check this off my New Years Resolutions...and it isn't even the 31st yet! Woo!)

Here are a few glimpses of my holidays thus far I would like to share:

AHAHA I tried tricking a few people into thinking it was a real tattoo (furrealz) but nobody bought it (not that I expected them to rofl). So to correct above, my first airbrushed tattoo. My mum saw it and she was like "What's that on your wrist??" (She's paranoid cos one of my family friends recently got a huge tattoo haha and she thinks now I'm influenced) and I was showed her and she said "Oh. Well don't get a real one!!"
Haha. And at the beach last Tuesday I kept forcing people to look at it and be like MAH TATTOO!! I SHOULD JOIN THE TRIADS!!

Roast ham I helped make :) Ooh I have a cool story about Christmas dear readers: Well on Christmas day in the morning I was sleeping in (cos my sister and I were so excited and opened our presents at 2am haha we were so sleepy the next morning) and my mum came into my room and told me she would be picking up a friend to join us for Christmas lunch. I kinda vaguely nodded and when I woke up I got changed and set the table for our guest, expecting some 50something year old asian grandpa to come over. Well my parents come back shortly and this young 20 year old guy is with them and my face: O.O
Who is this? How come my parents are so hip??
Haha well the story goes my parents went for a 2 week overseas trip last term by themselves to visit their parents and on the plane ride back they sat by and befriended a Chinese international student who is studying English and actuarial science at Macquarie Uni and had gone back to China to visit his family. On account of the fact that the rest of his family is back overseas and he is alone in Australia studying, my mum felt so sorry for him being along on Christmas she invited him over for lunch.
:D ANyway I think my mum saw it as her mission to fatten him up (he wasn't particularly skinny but she insisted he was probably living off ramen noodles which was probably true) so she gave us SO MUCH to eat at lunch (roast turkey, roast ham, salmon, roast vegetables etc etc and ice-cream and cake and pudding) which was B-A-D cos that Christmas night we were all going out to Stamford to eat a big Christmas buffet dinner) and so my mum made us all full haha and we didn't end up eating much when we got to Stamford later that night. And she forced the international student (whose name is Kyle) to take home boxes of leftover food haha

This was the HUGE, EDIBLE, gingerbread house at Stamford :D The food there wasn't actually that special for the $$ price but the atmosphere was so nice. There were Christmas songs blasting out whilst we dined and a Santa even came, ringing a bell, and we got to take a picture with him.

Here are the shorts I bought from Myer at the BOXING DAY SALE! Wow that was a crazy day. Lesson learnt-sleep in on boxing day in the future. The crowds are MASSIVE and some poor girl had a nosebleed and was standing in some corner with no tissues so there was blood on the floor and everyone just rushed past her which was sad and my sister and I stayed with her until she said she was feeling better which made us late for lunch with my mum and my aunt and Issie and her sister and her mum but that was okay :)

It was my aunt's birthday on the 28th and my mum forgot to buy the cake during the day and JUST remembered about 20minutes before we had to head out so she drove to Winston Hills Mall (that trusty place) and got the last cake they had for sale at Michel's Pattisserie. Haha it was quite a kiddy-ish cake for my aunt and very sweet (too much chocolate) but it was nice :D I'm sick of the endless fruit flans and cheesecakes we always have so yay :)
And funny story the next day after my aunt's birthday I went out to Yum Cha with some friends at that same restaurant (Prince at Parramatta btw) and I have pretty bad eyesight without my glasses right so I was talking and then I spot somebody who looks like my aunt on the next table but I couldn't really tell so I asked GZ (who I invariably count on for many things including reassuring me there are no ghosts in the Castle Hill library toilets and in this circumstance, with his contacts-enhanced superior vision whether or not that was my aunt or a doppleganger) and yes it turns out it was. What a coincidence haha! She came over and said hi and I said hi to her friend and it was nice :D

After Yum Cha (in which I did NOT spill tea unlike last time...Sorry Lui haha) I borrowed these two anthologies of short stories at the library for much needed inspiration for my own creative writing piece I have yet to write for English Advanced. The stories were very good, the standouts were a heartwarming piece called 'The Half-Brothers' about a brother who gives his life for the other and one called 'The Therapist' which makes you question the notion of sanity.

This is a notebook I received yesterday from a kind individual :) Thank you GZ! HAha two mentions in one post...seeing as you're going to be my first (and probably only) reader I probably should encourage this sort of audience interaction lol
Still trying to think of what I should write in it...Recipes for dishes I would like to create sometime in the future? A diary? CHEMISTRY NOTES? Rofl not that last one I have an older sister and cousin who have both gone through it all before (and LIVED to tell the tale HAHA) who have kindly passed down their folders and folders of assessing ethylene and lead acid batteries and whatnot :P
Give me ideas dear readers :D

This is Biscuit. She looks very cute doesn't she? DON'T BE DECEIVED ! Yesterday I was playing with her and turned around for the merest minute or two and when I came back she had somehow STOLEN MY GLASSES and chewed them and broke them :(

I think that's about all the recap-ing thus far, thus ending my First Post. It looks more impressive with the capitals haha. Did you know in the German language they capitalize all the nouns? Like this: I am going to the Shop to buy Bread. Ich bin in den Laden gehen, um Brot zu kaufen. I admit I used a bit of googletranslate for the verb bits, verbs in German are a PAIN. And my memory of the German language is rather rusty at best. Oh well I have kept every single one of my textbooks and those magazines they gave us so one day I can remind myself haha. I DO remember however that all nouns also had genders, whether feminine, masculine or neutral and dogs were masculine and cats were feminine.

It's New Years Eve tomorrow everybody, make sure you STAY SAFE wherever you are going and whatever you are doing :) As for my plans, I am looking forward to watching 'New Years Eve' tomorrow and going out the city with family to stay in a hotel and watch the fireworks from there (the 9pm ones. We're not that cool to watch the 12 ones haha.). Ooh and SPARKLERS it's a prime time to use those sparklers in your cupboard tomorrow :)
